A MESSAGE FROM A FRIEND

Just want to share a quotation from a dear friend.....

"I live life with simple rules,
I care for those who would also give care,
Maybe I can't give the best companionship,
But I can treasure all good memories.

Maybe sometimes you don't like my personality,
But behind my imperfections,
I can still be here to lend a hand when you need me."

It was such an inspiring message. Are you one of them?

TRUTH AND HONESTY

Honesty is upholding the truth at all costs, at all times. Dishonesty causes harm to oneself and other people, and creates mistrust or may even ruin relationships. Truth can be manipulated by a misleading information specially through advertisements which you think its cheaper but are actually more expensive in the long run. Another thing that truth can be manipulated are through lies and gossips. It is suppose to be innocent and harmless but it is still a lie that can lead to a bigger lie. Gossiping, rumor mongering and backfighting are also factors why truth can be manipulated. Spreading news about another person which have no basis at all and without discernible truth. Talking about a person behind their back or talking about a persons issue to another, false testimony, blaming someone with a fault although the person accusing knows that this is not true and forgery are one of the many things wherein truth is manipulated.

RAISING A BRIGHTER CHILD

According to theories, intelligence is not constant and therefore it can be improved. While it is concedes that heredity lays the groundwork for child's intelligence, it is the environment which determines the extent to which a child can develop his potential. It contends that regardless of inherited intellectual capacity or economic background, the mental development of a child rests largely on whether or not his parents care enough to provide him with a creative stimulating environment in the earliest years of his life, long before he enters his first classroom. Since the child spends his first six years with their parents, they become this first and most influential teacher. Parents were never taught to think of babies as intelligent individuals. A child will blossom in a warm and democratic home where his parents listens to him seriously, answers all questions with enthusiasm, corrects his mistakes and seek healthier ways of motivating the child other than fear, scolding, or physical punishment.

TALKING GOD TO CHILDREN

Parents always threaten their children with the wrath of God, and end up implanting the fear of God in their young hearts. In a world where GOD does not seem to matter anymore. It's becoming more difficult for parents to talk about God to their children. They uses God for their own convenience not for its spiritual purpose. But not all have these kind of thinking, many of us grew up in a world that presented God as a Supreme Being out there who watches our every move. That if in case we go against the ten commandments we go straight to what they call "hell". Our concept about God has remained stereotyped. When our kids ask about God, we often tend to use ready made concepts, we always resort to the old cathechism books which we have been memorizing for years but not really understood. in my own opinion, the best way to talk about God is not to talk about the concept of God but to live with Him because if you live in God, you live with love.

BREAKING THROUGH CHILD'S PESKY HABITS

Thumb sucking, hair twirling, hair sucking, and nail biting are few pesky habits of a growing child. Such habits are very common to kids aging 7 year up to 10 years old. In fact, research suggests that rhythmic, repetitive motions like sucking or chewing create chemical changes that trigger the release of serotonin, a mood regulator in the brain, according to one authority on the subject. I is not at all a surprise that such stress-easing habits should become common among grade schoolers. But most of this habits are ultimately harmless.

WELCOMING THE YEAR OF THE TIGER

I must admit that year 2009 is not really a good one, but have no regret because we have survive all the obstacles that we have encountered. Even my kids did not feel the pressure we have experienced. They live in normal life.

But this year, I feel it would be very different from the past year. This early there are several invitation for job interviews. Opportunities that can help in our financial worries. I am also very lucky that friends here and abroad has not changed for years. And most of all, I got the chance to chat and talk to my long lost friend from New York. Both of us can't believe that after almost 20 years we're talking, nonstop chatting and also reminished the past, the escapades we had during the time we are together. It is really a refreshing experience for a start of the year 2010.
And all of this is for the benefit of our kids.
